Group Studio Recitals

Group Studio Recitals will be held at Lawrence Piano Studio, 2512 W 6th, Ste B beginning the week of December 9, 2024.

All students should arrive at the studio at their regularly scheduled lesson time to warm up with the class. Please try to arrive promptly. All studio recitals will begin 15 minutes after the normal lesson time.

The exact date and time of your recital is written on your weekly assignment sheet.

Family members are encouraged to attend in-person for this studio recital. We will have a brief reception following the recital. We will have a Zoom recital set up for anyone not able to attend in-person. I will send Zoom invitations the week before the recital.

The studio recital will be the last class before the holiday break. We will resume lessons the week of January 5th.

Recital for Private Students

Students in private lessons will have a recital at the Lawrence Arts Center, December 17th – 19th. Please let me know if you need to change or double check your times for the 2nd Practice or the Winter Recital times.

Friends and family are encouraged to attend the Winter Recital in-person. We will have a reception following the Winter Recital. I will be sending a Zoom invitation the week before the Winter Recital. Please forward this invitation to anyone not able to attend the Winter Recital in-person.

Group Lesson Changes

During the holiday break, I will be making some minor adjustments to my schedule. I will be moving some students to different classes for the following reasons:

  1. A conflict with the lesson time beginning in January.
  2. A student needs a more challenging class.
  3. To balance the number of students in a class.

If you think you may have a scheduling conflict starting in January or would like to inquire about a different class, please e-mail me at lawrencepiano@sbcglobal.net.

Private Lesson Changes

If you know of a conflict with your private lesson time starting in January, please let us know as soon as possible so we can find a different time. If we had discussed moving your child into a group lesson after the holidays or would like more information about group lessons, please e-mail me at lawrencepiano@sbcglobal.net. Sometimes changing from private to group lessons will help motivate a student. Group lessons provide a social context much like playing in a band or orchestra.

Piano Tuning

As the weather turns colder your piano is affected by the drop in humidity. Now is a good time to get your piano tuned. It should stay in good tune until the humidity starts to rise again in April and May. It is a treat to have a well tuned piano when family gathers to share recital pieces and holiday songs. There are many good piano tuners in Lawrence. Please let me know if you would like a contact number.

Holiday Break

Sunday, December 14th – Saturday, January 4th. Lessons will resume Monday January 5th.
